On the morning of March 6, Professor Arturo Dell'Acqua Bellavitis, dean of the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy, and Benedetto Latteri, Consul General of the Italian Consulate General in Guangzhou, visited School of Communication and Design(SCD), SYSU. Professor Yang Xiaoyan, associate dean of SCD and director of Department of Creative Media Design, Professor Wang Jianmin, associate dean of SCD and teacher Liu Chen participated in the meeting and conversation between two sides.

Dean Arturo Dell'Acqua Bellavitis introduced the design discipline and the advantages of his school, and gave an overview of students in different academic levels. Professor Wang Jianmin introduced the basic information of SCD, including the composition of the school, departments and students. Besides, Professor Yang Xiaoyan and Teacher Liu Chen raised questions on specialties and disciplines of the other side. The two sides discussed the possibility of cooperation on the exchange of scholars and students, joint training projects, and cooperation in scientific researches. They hoped to promote mutual understanding through the exchange between scholars first, and then reach other forms of cooperation. Consul General Benedetto Latteri also expressed the hope to promote the cooperation between Italian universities and SYSU. After the talk, dean Arturo Dell'Acqua Bellavitis and his party visited the Interaction Design Laboratory of the University Digital Media Research Center.
