The 1st International Conference on Regional and Urban Development in the 21st Century and the Lingnan Forum Was Held in SYSU

During Dec 17-18, hosted by Sun Yat-sen University and Guangdong Association of Social Sciences and organized by SYSU China Public Management Research Center, SYSU School of Government and Academic Research Magazine, the 1st International Conference on Regional and Urban Development in the 21st Century and the Lingnan Forum was held in Sun Yat-sen University.

Chen Chunsheng, SYSU vice-president, Lin Youneng, vice-chairman of Guangdong Association of Social Sciences, Xia Shuzhang, honorary dean of School of Government, SYSU, Ma Jun, dean of School of Government, Ye Jingbao, chief editor of Academic Research Magazineand more than 20 international renowned experts from United States of America, Britain, France, Germany, Canada, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan region, as well as 50 famous mainland scholars and representatives from China social Sciences, Journal of Renmin University of China and Central Compilation and Translation Press and other leading academic and research institutions were present at the conference.

This conference is of international academic influence on global regional-urban development. In the one and a half days keynote speech and panel discussion, more or less a hundred experts shared their research results and practical experience on regional and urban policy study and discussed how to deeply understand and respond to the complex regional-urban development. The conference has promoted international exchanges on regional-urban research and made a profound impact on drawing lessons from the international, focusing on local issues and promoting China's regional and urban development process to build a better city.
