China Youth Daily reported on Dec.12 After 100 peasant-workers of rising generation were admitted into Peking University free of charge, nearly 10 thousand peasant-workers realized their university dream in Guangdong. Guangdong’s “Dreams Fulfilling Plan” held the opening ceremony in Sun Yat-sen University today. 9656 peasant-workers of rising generation attended 17 colleges and universities, and would receive higher education mostly based on network distance education. With the support of society and related departments, peasant-workers only need to pay 1000 yuan for 2 to 3 years’ further education at the undergraduate or junior college level, realizing the plan of one yuan per day for the universities.

At the opening ceremony, Member of the Communist Party’s Politburo and Secretary of CPC Guangdong Committee Wang Yang sent the congratulatory letter where he congratulated to peasant-worker students on their dream coming true. Not long ago, he made important instructions on ‘Dreams Fulfilling Plan’--'It closely follows the pulse of time, sets an example nationwide, improves the influence and cohesion of Communist Youth League and deserves high appreciation. ’

The Dreams Fulfilling Plan’ is a public welfare project jointly implemented by Guangdong Provincial Committee, Guangdong Education Department, and other departments, which focused on funding young migrant workers for their higher education mostly based on network distance education. On the basis of supporting 100 peasant-workers to study in Peking University for free this May, the autumn enrolling quota of ‘Dreams Fulfilling Plan’ expanded to one thousand. Apart from Peking University, there’re 16 new participators, including South China Normal University, Sun Yat-sen University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Southwest Jiaotong University.
