The Third International conference on Information Capital, Property & Ethics, jointly hosted by School of Information, South Florida University, USA, Department of Information and Communication, Shih Hsin University, Taiwan and School of Information Management, Sun Yat-sen University, was held in Huaishi Hall of Sun Yat-sen University. The theme of the conference was 'Information Policies and Ethics of Information Rights’. Nearly 100 scholars and experts from University of South Florida, Central University of North Carolina, Shih Hsin University, Hong Kong Knowledge Dialogue Research and Consulting Company, Peking University, Wuhan University, Nanjing University, Hebei University, Zhengzhou University, Hunan University, North China Normal University, Jishou University, Shanghai Information Institute of Social Sciences Academy, South China Normal University, Sun Yat-sen University and other institutes home and abroad gathered together and discussed relevant academic questions such as information policy, information rights and ethics.
Deputy Head of Party Committee in SYSU Li Ping delivered the welcoming speech in the opening ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Cheng Huanwen, Assistant to President. Other addressers included President of Shih Hsin University Lai Dingming, South Florida University Professor John Gathegi, President of School of Information Management, Wuhan University, Professor Chen Chuanfu and Vice Dean of Department of Information Management, Peking University, Professor Zhou Qingshan.
During the seminar, President Xu Ningsheng met President of Shih Hsin University Lai Dingming in VIP Hall of Zhongshan Building and had a cordial talk on exchanges and cooperation issues between the two universities.
