During Nov 20-23, Bobby Kapur, Principal of Baylor College of Medicine who is in charge with international cooperation, Professor Michael Coburn, Principal of Department of urology and residency training program and Associate Professor Zhang Yuanyuan, Principal of Department of urology of Wake Forest University visited Sun Yat-sen University.

Vice-presidents Li Mengfeng and Chen Chunsheng, director of the Teaching Affairs Department of Medical School Xiao Haipeng, , Deputy Director Wang shuzhen, Wu Zhongdao, Vice-president of Zhongshan Medical College, Fu Jianhua, Vice-president of Cancer Center and principals of the relevant disciplines met with representatives of Baylor College of Medicine. The two sides had a discussion on the future management of medical education, exchange programs, faculty exchanges and cooperation. They achieved cooperation intentions and signed the Memorandum between Baylor College of Medicine and Sun Yat-sen University”.

In recent years, the Teaching Affairs Department of Medical School followed an international development strategy and actively promoted international exchanges of undergraduate medical education and cooperation programs. It has made useful attempts and experiments in international education and established a stable long-term exchange and cooperation relation with Indiana University, Sweden Linkoping University and other international renowned medical institutions.
