Vice-president of University of Ottawa, Canada Visited SYSU

On the morning of Oct 13, Francois Houle, Vvice-president and Ddean of University of Ottawa, Canada and a delegation visited Sun Yat-sen University. SYSU Vvice-president Wei Minghai received the guests.

During the talk, vice-president Houle introduced the distinguished characteristics of bilingual teaching method of English and French in Ottawa University, as well as some basic information of its preponderant disciplines-- political science and anthropology. Vice-president Houle hoped this visit would promote mutual understanding between both universities and open the door for dialogue communication and exchange. Vice-president Wei Minghai gave a basic introduction of SYSU international cooperation and exchange programs and especially focused on the basic situation of SYSU students’ exchanges and foreign exchange students. The two sides have reached a preliminary intention of teacher exchanges and student exchanges.

During the visit, the delegation also had a meeting with teachers from School of Sociology and Anthropology, School of Government and the Graduate School.

University of Ottawa is a research university in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and consists of nine schools, which arenamely School of Management, School of Liberal Arts, School of Education, School of Engineering School, School of Health, School of Law, School of Medicine, School of Science, and School of Social Sciences. There are up to 40,000 students at schoolthe university.
