The Opening Ceremony of the Training Program on Teaching Materials for Thailand Chinese Language Teachers was Held in Our University

On the morning of September 25, the opening ceremony of the 2011 Training Program on Teaching Materials for Thailand Chinese Teachers of our university was held in south campus. Associate Senior Editor Zhou Fang and Editor Ju Hui from Higher Education Press, Associate Professor Mo Xiuying from School of Chinese as A Second Language, and Editor Chu Dandan from the Commercial Press attended the opening ceremony as representatives of the training instructors.
This training program is highly received by Thailand, whose Chinese teachers from various regions applied for the program actively. Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters representative office in Thailand specially sent out 2 representatives as team leaders to coordinate the work.

Trainees will receive a six-day teaching materials training in SYSU. Apart from model classes and demonstration of teaching plan model classes, trainees have to make teaching plans and coursewares by themselves, which will be presented and receive comments from the instructors.

This training program is hosted by Hanban and Confucius Institute Headquarters, co-organized by Base for International Chinese Teaching Materials Developing and Teacher Training, and School of Chinese as A Second Language of our university. In total 88 Thailand Chinese teachers of elementary and secondary schools joined the training program.
