With cordial care and great attention from the Central Party Committee, the State Council and efforts from all parties, The 26th Shenzhen Universiade was held successfully. Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, municipal government and Xinhua News Agency Guangdong Branch have sent their letters of thanks. They appreciated support and help from Sun Yat-sen University.

Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and municipal government were thankful for SYSU’s care and substantial support, which were the solid foundation of a successful Universiade. It was SYSU and other parties’ joint effort that made the Shenzhen Universiade a special one, a brilliant one, and it was a way of showing the enormous achievement of China’s modernization, reform and opening up policy to the world.

During the Universiade, the Xinhua News Agency UNS team had recruited 21 UNS journalists and 11 interpreters from Sun Yat-sen University, whose tasks were to interview, write and translate news. During the 12-day high speed process, SYSU students had overcome millions of difficulties. With high sense of responsibility and exceeding professional skills, they interviewed, wrote and translated a great deal of news. The news were widely quoted by media at home and abroad and they were highly appreciated by the journalists at the conference and the organizing committee. It was their hard work that made the Shenzhen Universiade a tremendous success. For that, Xinhua News Agency Guangdong Branch expressed sincere thanks to SYSU leaders, teachers and students.
