"Distance Cannot Separate True Friends Who Feel So Close Even When They Are Thousands of Miles Apart” Photo Exhibition of the Confucius Institutes Undertaken by Sun Yat-Sen University

In order to inform more teachers and students of the Confucius Institutes’ conditions undertaken by our university, to motivate more of them to concern with and support the international Chinese promotion work of our university, after the successful launch of Confucius Institute Online, “Distance Cannot Separate True Friends Who Feel So Close Even When They Are Thousands of Miles Apart” --photo exhibition of the Confucius Institutes undertaken by Sun Yat-Sen University, hosted by SYSU Office of Chinese Language Council International and Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, is on display now in the first floor lobby of south campus library. This photo exhibition is focused on showing the achievements of our school’s Confucius Institutes, and to introduce teaching conditions of and the development that has accomplished by the 5 Confucius Institutes that our school undertakes aboard in five parts, namely "benevolence”, "etiquette”, "praise”, "art”, "conduct”.

Entrusted by Hanban(China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language), SYSU has collaborated with universities abroad to establish five Confucius Institutes since 2006. They are the Confucius Institute at Ateneo de Manila University in Philippines, the Confucius Institute at Autonomous University of Yucatan in Mexico, the Confucius Institute in Indianapolis USA, the Confucius Institute in Lyon, France, and the Confucius Institute at University of Cape Town in South Africa. SYSU has sent out 6 Chinese deans, 6 Chinese teachers and 30 Chinese volunteering teachers in total.
