A few days ago, the Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering & Technology held its official unveiling ceremony in Zhuhai Campus of Sun Yat-Sen University.
The Institute was established jointly by SYSU and five French higher education institutions, such as National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble. So far, this is the first professional nuclear engineering institute in China that introduces the six-year system of educating engineers from France.
Unlike other joint education programs, courses in the Institute will be completed in six years, divided into three years of elite preparatory education and three years of engineer education. After six years, students will receive not only diplomas from SYSU, but also French nuclear engineer certificates.
