The special performance of Sun Yat-sen University(SYSU ) named Affection for SYSU was shown on the summer holiday special program We Are Talented - Songs of Graduation in the general channel of China Central Television(CCTV) at 18:00 on July 19th. This TV program is organized by CCTV and the Central Propagandist Department of Communist Youth League, and co-hosted by Sun Yat-sen University and the program We Are Talented.

Focused at the theme of ’openness’ and ’tolerance’, the performance of SYSU students had fully displayed their glamour and excellencies while showing their sense of social responsibilities as the graduates of the university.

During the performance, President Xu Ningsheng appeared in the stage where he sent words for the graduates of 2011.The University Dance Troupe presented several dances including Dash Delek and The Burning Flame; student singers sang campus heat songs such as Let Dreams Fly; the stories of postgraduate volunteer teachers and Mei Lin, a graduate this year who is suffered from leukemia moved all the audiences; the whole show ended successfully with the musical High Mountains and Long Rivers.
