【Chinese Government Net】 Guangdong Camp of“National Thousand Youths Summer Camp of Taiwan Solidarity Union and Taiwan Compatriots”was Opened

The Xinhua News Agency Guangzhou reported on July 14th, Guangdong Camp of“National Thousand Youths Summer Camp of Taiwan Solidarity Union and Taiwan Compatriots” jointly organised by National Taiwan Solidarity Union and Guangdong Taiwan Solidarity Union was opened in Guangzhou on the evening of July 14th. Over 40 college students from Taiwan attended this summer camp, whose theme was “Appreciate Linnan culture, and Approach Xinhai’s Hundred Years”.

It was introduced by Guangdong Taiwan Solidarity Union that the 40 campers came from several universities in Taiwan, such as National Taiwan University, Gaoxiong Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan Normal University and Kun Shan University of Technology. Those campers came to Guangzhou after 6 days’ fellowship activity in Beijing, and they would spend fives day from July 14th to 18th on visiting some historical remains of Xinhai Revolution, such as Huanghuagang, Genealissimo Sun Yat-sen’s Mansion, and the historical site of Guangdong Advisory Council, as well as many scenic spots of Linnan, such as Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen, Chen Ancestral Temple and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Auditorium. They would also go to see the natural and harmonious Green-way in Zengcheng constructed under the guidance of “Building a livable city and creating a green Guangdong”.

During the summer camp, Guangdong Taiwan Solidarity Union would cooperate with Sun Yat-sen University to host “Forum of Guangdong-Taiwan College Students Approaching Xinhai’s Hundred Years”, where experts and college students from Guangdong and Taiwan would go deep into the topic “Sun Yat-sen and Xinhai Revolution”.

It is known that the “Guangdong Camp of ‘National Thousand Youths Summer Camp of Taiwan Solidarity Union and Taiwan Compatriots’”has been hosted eight times in succession, when over 500 college students from Taiwan have come to Guangdong to attend summer camps with various themes, such as “Understand Hakkas Culture”, “Know History of Chinese Moving Abroad in Modern Times ”, "Experience New Life of Asian Games”.
