On the afternoon of July 5^th , Zhang Guangning, member of Guangdong Provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of Municipal Party, led a delegation of 17 people to visit Sun Yat-sen University. Zheng Detao, secretary of SYSU Party Committee and Xu Ningsheng, president of SYSU accompanied them.


Secretary Zhang Guangning and the delegation came to visit the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Techonologies in East Campus, where they were showed around Lab for Flat Panel Display Materials and Technology, SYSU-HKUST Associated Lab for Nano-Materials and Technology and Research Centre of Semiconductor Lighting System. They also asked about transformation of achievements and layout of industrial chain. Later on, secretary Zhang Guangning went to the School of Life Sciences, and, under the guidance of dean Song Yangzhou, inspected Genomics Platform, Cell Microstructure Platform, Biological Ultramicro Platform, Animal Transgenosis Platform, Proteomics Platform and Ocean Culture System. They also gave constructive advice to apply the achievements in biotechnology and life science to the construction of Guangzhou International Bio-island. In the School of Engineering, the dean Jiang Qing introduced Lab for Medical Materials and Biological Microsystem, Lab for Targeting Delivery and Medicine Control&Release, Lab for Biological Micro-nanometer Mechanics, and Lab for Medical Instruments. Secretary Zhang Guangning listened to the introduction of research results and asked the representatives of cooperative enterprises for more information about university-enterprise cooperation.
