[Southern Metropolis Daily reports] The 2011 SYSU Commencement and DegreeAwarding Ceremony was held in K.K.Leung Hall yesterday. Xu Ningsheng, the new president of SYSU awarded the graduates degrees for the first time, yet his popularity was no less than the former presidents. Some bold girl even kissed him, hoping to keep it as the most precious memory in university. This year, 15,814 SYSU graduates will go to the society.

Shake hands, take the diploma, bow, and leave … Yet some students wanted more than the routine. After taking their degrees, many students hugged the president, some made faces, and a girl from the Department of History gave a tight hug to the president and "kissed” him. President Xu kept smiling all the time, showing no embarrassment.

The girl’s movement aroused screams around instantly and the atmosphere in the hall relaxed at once. Many graduates who had already taken their degrees regretted:“ I should have kissed the president.”
