University of Cape Town Confucius Institute Council Meeting Was Held in SYSU

On May 30, University of Cape Town Confucius Institute council meeting was held in SYSU. Nan Yeld, acting vice-president of University of Cape Town and dean of the Confucius Institute, Clive Chandler, director of Department of Foreign Languages, University of Cape Town, Wei Minghai, director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and Chang Chenguang, dean of School of Foreign Languages, SYSU were present at the meeting. Wu Qianlong, dean of the Confucius Institute assigned by SYSU participated in the meeting.
The meeting has reviewed on the work and financial situation of University of Cape Town Confucius Institute over the last year, promoted the work scheme of Confucius Institute for next year, and had a discussion on how to enhance the cooperation and exchange between the two sides. The principal assistant Wei Minghai high valued the work that University of Cape Town has done and expressed the substantial support from SYSU on the construction of the Confucius Institute.
So far, University of Cape Town Confucius Institute is one of the five Confucius Institutes that SYSU cooperated with overseas. It was co-established by Sun Yat-sen University and University of Cape Town on January 2001.
