Undergraduate Admissions Office of Our University Paid a Visit to H.K. for Promotion of 2011 Admission

In order to improve the quality of students recruited and further expand the influence of our university in H.K., the undergraduate admissions office paid a visit to H.K. on May 6th and 7th to promote the 2011 admission. Symposiums with some H.K. educators and an orientation meeting for separate recruitment in H.K have been held.

On May 6th, the undergraduate admissions office of our university had a talk with over 30 representatives, including principals of the Union of Parent and Teacher Associations in 18 districts of H.K. and some headmasters. Both sides have exchanged ideas on our admission policies and how to expand promoting channels for admission in H.K. We have also probed into the problem that how to adapt the newly-implemented academic structure in senior high school of H.K. to the admission system in mainland China. All the representatives showed their hope to further inspect SYSU to know it better.

On May 7th, the undergraduate admissions office of our university held an orientation meeting for 2011 separate recruitment in H.K at the Heung To College of Professional Studies, special for the students in H.K., not only giving an introduction of SYSU to the parents and students, but answering any questions posed. With the previous experience of promotion for admission in H.K. in the past few years, the office has made greater effort to thoroughly collect the state of school life of students still at school in H.K., Macao and Taiwan, and also made electronic leaflets written in traditional Chinese on issues the parents and students concern the most in H.K., such as board and lodging and cost, which showed so practical the needs of the Hongkongese as to enjoy a widespread approval and welcome.It is reported that the application for separate recruitment in H.K. is underway, and the entrance exam will be held at the beginning of next month.
