Charities Research Centre of SYSU Held its Unveiling Ceremony

On May 6th, the winner of the 2009 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, Professor Elinor Ostrom from US Indiana University, at the invitation of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, gave a lecture as one of the lecture series given by Nobel Prize Winners. At the meantime, she specially unveiled the plaque for the newly founded Charities Research Centre of SYSU. On the unveiling ceremony, she joyfully accepted the offered appointment as the honorary chairman of the Academic Consultation Committee of the centre.


The Charities Research Centre of SYSU (hereafter in Charities Center), since its foundation, has established a strategic and cooperative partnership with the Charities Centre of US Indiana University, which is the most important charities research centre in the United States. Their most prominent contribution is to promote the establishment of charities study as a discipline in US university system. Meanwhile they also cultivate many a leaders of charity organizations in US. The Charities Centre distinguishes Indiana University in charities research and services study among other universities in US.
