On the morning of April 11, Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government convened provincial science and technology award meeting and provincial scientific and technological working conference in Guangzhou. The meeting summarized the scientific and technological work of Guangdong during the 11th Five-Year Plan, arranged the scientific and technological work of this year and the 12th Five-year Plan period, and commended those advanced units and individuals who won the Guangdong Science and Technology Award for 2010.

There are 260 provincial science and technology awards was conferred in year 2010 totally, including 29 first prizes, 75 second prizes, and 156 third prizes. 16 scientific and technological achievements from our university have won the Award, including 6 first prizes, 5 second prizes, and 5 third prizes.


Wang Yang, member of the Communist Party’s Politburo and secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Huang Huahua, the deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and the Governor; Zhu Xiaodan, member of the Provincial Party Committee and the executive vice Governor; Wang Ningsheng, the vice chairman of Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress; Song Hai then vice Governor; Wen Lanzi, the vice chairman of CPPCC; and some other leaders have attended the award meeting and presented the prizes to the representatives of the winners. Principal Assistant Xia Lianghui representatives of winners, as well as workers from the Department of Science and Technology from our university has also attended the meeting.
