Article Resource: The International Research and Training Base of Chinese Textbooks

On April 8th, President Xu Ningsheng had a meeting with Xu Lin, Counselor of Central Government, Director of the Office of Chinese Language Council International and Secretary General of Confucius Institute Headquarters in Beijing.

In the meeting, both sides discussed about the issues including establishing doctoral program on Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and developing international research and training base of Chinese textbooks in Sun Yat-sen University. Director Xu Lin highly appreciated the work Sun Yat-sen university has done related with the textbooks base and showed his continuous support for the improvement of base and cause of International Chinese Education. He also raised his ideas on problems concerning with design proposal of cultural experience area in the base, setting up standards for international Chinese textbooks and writing the textbooks about Chinese ancient celebrities. President Xu Ningsheng said that Sun Yat-sen University will spare no effort in achieving the tasks assigned from the Office of Chinese Language Council International and in contributing for the popularization of Chinese globally and development of Chinese education.

Ma Jianfei, Vice Director of the Office of Chinese Language Council International and Vice Secretary General of Confucius Institute Headquarters, Yang Jingcheng, Director of Office of Teachers, Fan Ding, Section Director of Policy Programming as well as Zhou Xiaobin, President of School of Chinese as a Second Language and the Director of International Research and Training Base of Chinese Textbooks in Sun Yat-sen University also attended the meeting.
