Article Resource: School of Information Management

On April 1^st, twenty-two students and teachers from Research Institute of Library Information and Archival Science, Taiwan National Chengchi University visited the School of Information Management, Sun Yat-sen University on academic purpose. The symposiums that explored the current status and the future of library information as well as archival science were held in Executive Conference Center of East Campus and then in the School of Information Management. About 120 students and faculty from the Taiwan National Chengchi University, Library of Sun Yat-sen University and School of Information Management attended the symposiums which were hosted by the dean of School of Information Management Cao Jinshu.

During the symposiums, Professor Wang Meiling, Professor Xue Ligui and Professor Chen Zhimin from Taiwan National Chengchi University gave academic lectures whose titles were “The Use and Reading Behavior of Electronic Journals ”, "The Analysis on Taiwan Archival Science Dissertation ”, "The Development of Digital Learning in Taiwan” respectively. Meanwhile Professor Chen Huanwen and Associate Professor Zhang Yang from School of Information Management distributed their reports on “Free Library Service - Grief Past, Sad Reality and Wish for Future” and “The Development of Information Science in Mainland China” respectively.
After the lectures, the participants were divided into groups of “Students” and “Teachers” where they continued intensive discussions on issues concerning with mutual academic exchanges and cooperation as well as postgraduates education.
