The Delegation from Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies Visited Sun Yat-sen University

On March 25th, a delegation comprised of four people from Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies in North Korea visited Sun Yat-sen University. They were received by the Deputy Party Secretary Li Ping in the VIP Lounge of Zhongshan Buiding. During the meeting, they retrospected the cooperation and exchange between both sides when Deputy Party Secretary Li Ping visited Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies last September and they also expressed their wish to strengthen mutual cooperation.

Dean of School of International Studies Huang Guowen, Director of Academic Administrative Wang Bing, Head of Korean Department Liu Yu, Head of Chinese as a Foreign Language Department Luo Bin and the Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange Xu Yao attended the meeting.

Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies is a foreign language university which has five-year school year. In 1964, the university was separated from the School of Foreign Language, Kim II-sung University and now it is consisted of five departments including that of English, Russian, Chinese, Japanese as well as Ethnologues (German, French, Spanish, Arabian and so on), which provides. 21 languages for students and currently has more than 2000 students in it.
