On the morning of March 24^th, the first Spanish Consul General in Guangzhou Carlos Morales visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) for the first time and was received by the vice president Yan Guangmei.

Vice President Yan introduced to the foreign guests basic information of the university as well as current cooperation with Spanish universities and Spanish educations in SYSU. Vice President Yan also expressed his wish that SYSU would have opportunities to further the cooperation with Spain while the Consul General Carlos Morales said that during his term of office he would be willing to try his best to promote the cooperation between the two sides.

Mr. Carlos Morales was appointed the first Spanish Consul General in Guangzhou in June, 2009. After one years’ preparation, the Spanish Consulate General in Guangzhou was opened in October 2010.

Xu Yao, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange also attended the meeting.
