Cross-Strait College Students Scientific, Technological and Cultural Exchange of SYSU 13th Fulan Physics Festival Successfully Concluded

From November 7th to 11th, the cross-strait college students scientific, technological and cultural exchange camp of SYSU 13th Fulan Physics Festival was held on South Campus. More than one hundred representatives of teachers and students from altogether thirteen universities attended this event, including National Taiwan University (NTU), National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) in Taiwan, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in Taiwan, National Central University (NCU) in Taiwan, Peking University (PKU), Tsinghua University (THU), University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Fudan University (FDU), Nanjing University (NJU), Nankai University (NKU), Wuhan University (WHU), Sichuan University (SCU) and Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU).

Themed with “academic exchange” and “cultural exchange”, the event was composed of undergraduate team academic report invitational tournament, communication report contest, lectures by specialists in physics and cultural tour. Team leaders Professor Chao-Ming Fu of Department of Physics at NTU, Professor Yung-Sung Chen, chairman of Department of Physics at NSYSU, Professor Chiang-Mei Chen, deputy head of Department of Physics at NCU, Professor Dengsung Lin of Physics Department at NTHU, Professor LIU Yuxin, vice dean of School of Physics at PKU, Professor LIU Yubin, dean of School of Physics at NKU, Professor YE Bangjiao, Secretary of School of Physics at USTC, and Professor MA Shihong, vice-director of Department of Physics at FDU participated in the above activities in all their entirety.

This college student communication activity was highly praised by representatives across the Strait. Its success played a positive role in broadening academic horizons of the students, improving academic communication skills and enhancing teamwork spirit.
