Sponsored by the School of Sociology and Anthropology and co-sponsored by Students Association of SYSU, the report seminar for the activity “Boya Education—in Wenchuan after the earthquake research community redevelopment study and service activities”, was held on April 1st. Zhu Kongjun, Vice-secretary of Party Community of SYSU, Qi Xiaoping, Director of Students’ Affairs Office of SYSU, Dong Ling, Director of Management of the School of Graduates, Li Mingzhang, Director of Career Guidance Center, Ding Xiaoqiu, Vice-secretary of Young League Community of SYSU, relative responsible persons and teachers were present at the report.

The event is consisted of five teams, with approximately 40 Phd and graduate students from various disciplines of the four campuses who will carry out community fieldwork and research communities for sustainable livelihood projects in Sichuan for a duration of 12 days. During the report, the five research teams introduced their research results respectively and exchanged experiences of the activities. Each team claimed that, the activity had allowed them to link professional knowledge with social responsibility in the research for local societies. They had taken parts in the social re-construction, which not only made them realize the hardship and strength of the local citizens, but also made them realize their responsibilities and obligations. They all considered the activity to be a "transformation”, which allows them to learn to think and interrogate.

Zhu Kongjun, Vice-secretary of Party Community of SYSU, awarded the certificates to the volunteers, urging them to keep up the spirit of service, through which they access, respond and involve in the society.
