Nanfang Daily News In a steady drizzle, 2012 "Sunshine College Entrance Examination (CEE) in Campus", which was sponsored by Guangzhou Municipal Admission Office, was held at Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center. During the campaign, 35 universities within Guangdong Province answered questions from parents and students. And for the first time, Sun Yat-sen University held its Campus Open Day before the results of CEE were published. Tens of key universities from other provinces rented booths in SYSU for consultation. While the universities were busy “selling” themselves, parents were obviously keener on this than their children were. A teacher even took his child from Jieyang City, almost 300 miles away from Guangzhou, to the campaign for consultation.
Yesterday morning, in the main consultation area of the Higher Education Mega Center, the “polarization” of booth visitors was quite serious: Guangdong parents apparently preferred famous universities within the province as well as financial and economic departments. Even for the departments in the same university, the financial and economic ones were consulted most. At the scene of SYSU Campus Open Day, universities from other provinces were relatively ignored, mainly because of “too far away from home” and "acclimatization problem”.
