Secretary Zheng Detao met with representatives of graduates

On the morning of June 25, 2014, SYSU held a meeting for graduates who will work in other provinces and a meeting for graduates who will work in west regions and at grassroots level. Secretary Zheng Detao attended and addressed the two meetings. The attendants of the second meeting also included Vice President Yan Guangmei, Director of Publicity Department Qiu Guoxin, Director of Student Affairs Office Qi Xiaoping, Director of Graduates Office Mo Hua, Secretary of SYSU Youth Association Huang Yi, and Director of Career Development Counseling Center Li Mingzhang.

 
Before the two meetings, Secretary Zheng Detao came to K.K. Leung Hall to visit the university leaders, officiating professors and alumni representatives attending the graduation ceremony.

At the meeting for graduates who will work in other provinces, representatives of graduates said that the open and practical campus culture helped them to grow, and the study experience at SYSU lay a good foundation for their future career development. They also made some suggestions on talent cultivation and campus construction.

At the meeting for graduates who will work in west regions and at grassroots level, Vice President Yan Guangmei announced the university’s decision to commend 61 graduates of 2014 who are about to work in west regions and at grassroots level. Meng Zhenqin, Yu Lu and Hu Hongji, three representatives of the graduates, gave a speech respectively. They expressed their love for the alma mater and their dedication to the motherland.
 



 
At the two meetings, Secretary Zheng Detao hoped that the graduates would keep learning, take up social responsibilities and forge ahead. He said that the alma mater would provide strong support for alumni and hoped they would often come back. Finally, he wished everyone a great success.
