Volkswagen delegation visited SYSU

On the afternoon of June 25, a 30-member Volkswagen delegation led by Dr. Horst Neumann, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG for Human Resources and Organization, and Mr. Bernd Osterloh, Chairman of the General and Group Works Councils of Volkswagen AG, visited SYSU. Prof. Wei Minghai, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests accompanied by Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, and Prof. He Gaochao, Director of International Center for Joint Labor Research, School of Government, SYSU.

Vice President Wei Minghai extended a warm welcome to the Volkswagen delegation. He said that SYSU attached importance to university-enterprise cooperation and has kept a close relationship with Volkswagen in recent years. He hoped to take this opportunity to promote deeper and broader cooperation between the two sides.

Dr. Horst Neumann said that Volkswagen also attached great importance to cooperation and exchange with universities and hoped to establish a long term partnership with SYSU. Mr. Bernd Osterloh said that the General and Group Works Councils hoped to have more cooperation with SYSU in the future.

After the meeting, the delegation attended the seminar on “Personal management und Mitbestimmung im Volkswagen Konzern” organized by the School of Government of SYSU.

Volkswagen Group with its headquarters in Wolfsburg is one of the world’s leading automobile manufacturers and the largest carmaker in Europe. In December 2013, SYSU signed an agreement with Volkswagen (China) Investment Company Limited to conduct collaboration in the area of industrial relations and social development.
