Dr. Regina Lázaro, Vice-Rector of University of Zaragoza, visited SYSU

On July 5, Dr. Regina Lázaro, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Development Cooperation, University of Zaragoza (UZ), Spain, visited SYSU. Members of the UZ delegation also included Dr. Jesús Vela, Director for the International Relations and Development Cooperation Area, and Ms. Eva Pastor, Head of International Relations Office. Prof. Yan Guangmei, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests in Zhongshan Building on South Campus, accompanied by Prof. Ling Wenhua, Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange (OICE), Ms. Gu Wenli, Deputy Director of OICE, Prof. Wang Bin, Academic and Administrative Supervisor of School of International Studies, and Dr. Zhang Zhongli, Director of Department of Spanish, School of International Studies.

Vice President Yan Guangmei extended a warm welcome to the guests on behalf of SYSU and introduced the general situation of the university. Director Ling Wenhua presented a brief introduction to the international cooperation and exchange at SYSU. Prof. Wang Bin introduced School of International Studies and its exchanges with universities in Spain.

Vice-Rector Regina Lázaro briefly introduced UZ. Ms. Eva Pastor gave a detailed introduction to UZ’s international exchanges.

Then, the two sides held a discussion on joint construction of Confucius Institute and student exchange program. They hoped to take this opportunity to explore cooperation and exchange between the two universities and looked forward to future collaborations.

Founded in 1542, University of Zaragoza (UZ) is a renowned public university in Spain. Currently, it has 3,000 teachers and researchers, 2,000 administrative staff and over 40, 000 students.
