SYSU signed strategic cooperation framework agreement with BGI-Shenzhen

On September 9, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation framework agreement between Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) and Beijing Genomics Institute- Shenzhen (BGI-Shenzhen) was held in Shenzhen. The attendees of the ceremony included Yang Huanming, chairman of BGI; Wang Jun, Director of BGI-Shenzhen; Xu Ningsheng, President of SYSU; Yan Guangmei, Vice President of SYSU; Li Mengfeng, Vice President of SYSU; and Xiang Lianghui, Assistant President of SYSU.

 
SYSU and BGI-Shenzhen signed the strategic cooperation framework agreement.
 
During the meeting, the two sides had extensive and deep exchanges on the contents of the agreement. According to the agreement, the two sides will rely on their respective strengths in resources and technologies to build a long-term and comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership, on the basis of the principle of joint development, mutual benefits and win-win cooperation. They will carry out in-depth cooperation in national gene bank alliance, talent training, personalized medicine and construction of a joint research institute.

The signing ceremony was held at the 15th anniversary of BGI. President Xu Ningsheng also visited the newly upgraded BGI-Shenzhen Museum and learned more about BGI’s history, research, national gene bank and talent training.
