On October 20, Professor Pierre Servet, Vice President of Jean Moulin University-Lyon 3, visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Prof. Zhu Xiping, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guest, accompanied by Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, Prof. Zeng Xiaoyang, Head of Department of French, School of Foreign Languages, and Prof. Pu Zhihong, Director of Center for French Studies, School of Foreign Languages.

Prof. Zhu Xiping extended a warm welcome to Prof. Pierre Servet, and reviewed the cooperation between SYSU and Jean Moulin University-Lyon 3. He hoped that the two universities would expand cooperation and exchange on the basis of existing collaborations.
Prof. Pierre Servet reviewed the educational cooperation between Lyon and Guangzhou. He pointed out that SYSU is an important partner of Jean Moulin University-Lyon 3, and he hoped to promote the political, economic and cultural cooperation and exchange between the two universities and the two cities.
At the invitation of the Department of French and the Center for French Studies at School of Foreign Languages, Prof. Pierre Servet gave lectures at the French Language and Culture Salon during his visit to SYSU.
The cooperation between Sun Yat-sen University and Jean Moulin University-Lyon 3 began in 2000. In 2005, the two sides signed a university-level framework agreement on student exchange, joint program and faculty visit. In 2012, the two universities renewed the cooperation framework agreement, and signed agreements on student exchange, joint MA program in French and joint BA program in French.
