IUPUI Musical Troupe visited SYSU

On November 10-11, an 8-member delegation led by Scott Deal, Professor from Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI, visited SYSU. Members of the delegation also included Steve Allee, Jazz Pianist and Lecturer at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, John Alvarado, Robin Cox, Michael Drews, Jordan Munson and Sandy Williams from Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, as well as Prof. Joe Xu, Director of Confucius Institute in Indianapolis. The delegation was invited to give a concert tour on four campuses of SYSU as part of the 90th anniversary celebration activities.

On the morning of November 11, Prof. Zhu Xiping, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests. He extended a warm welcome to the delegation, and said that their performance would provide an opportunity for SYSU faculty and students to experience the American music culture.

Prof. Scott Deal thanked Prof. Zhu Xiping for the warm reception and said that he was glad to participate in the celebration activities of the 90th anniversary of SYSU. He hoped this visit could promote the exchange and cooperation between IUPUI and SYSU.

Ms. Wu Dan, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Youth Association, and Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and exchange, were also present at the meeting.

During the visit, the delegation gave a concert tour on four campuses of SYSU. Their performances were warmly welcomed by faculty, staff, students and alumni. The concert tour was organized by SYSU Youth Association.
