The Board Meeting of Confucius Institute at UADY held in SYSU

On December 1, 2014, the Board Meeting of Confucius Institute at UADY(CI-UADY) was held in Zhongshan Building of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). The SYSU attendees included Prof. Chen Chunsheng, Executive Deputy Secretary and Vice President of SYSU; Prof. Wang Bin, Academic and Administrative Supervisor of School of International Studies; Prof. Zhou Xiaobing, Dean of School of Chinese as a Second Language; Prof. Wen Wushao, Director of Experimental Teaching Center; and Ms. Gu Wenli, Executive Deputy Director of Office of Confucius Institutes. The UADY attendees included Dr. Andres Aluja, Director of CI-UADY, and Dr. Zhang Zhe, Chinese Director of CI-UADY.

At the meeting, Dr. Andres Aluja reported on CI-UADY’s work in 2014 and proposed the work plan for 2015. Prof. Chen Chunsheng affirmed the efforts and achievements of CI-UADY in promoting Chinese language and culture. Members of the Board discussed related issues and the focus of work for 2015. The two universities hoped to continue cooperation in teaching and research, and further deepen student exchanges.

After the meeting, Prof. Chen Chunsheng presented a gift to the two directors of CI-UADY respectively.

Founded in 1922, UADY is one of the top ten public universities in Mexico. At present, UADY has student exchange program with School of International Studies and School of Chinese as a Second Language of SYSU.

The Confucius Institute at UADY was jointly established by SYSU and UADY in September 2007. It is the second Confucius Institute established by SYSU.
