Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou visited SYSU

On the afternoon of April 30, 2015, a three-member delegation led by Mr. Alireza Salarian, Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou, visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Prof. Luo Jun, President of SYSU, met with the guests in Zhongshan Building, accompanied by Prof. Ling Wenhua, Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange of SYSU.

Mr. Alireza Salarian said that academic exchange is an important part of the cultural exchange between Iran and China. The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou will continue to keep close contact with SYSU and provide more help to promote the collaborations between Iranian universities and SYSU. He sincerely invited SYSU delegation to visit universities in Iran.

Prof. Luo Jun extended a warm welcome to Mr. Alireza Salarian, and thanked him for his care and support for the development of SYSU. Prof. Luo Jun pointed out that SYSU is willing to establish cooperation and exchange relations with Iranian universities, and promote academic and cultural exchange and development between the two countries through collaborations among universities.

The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou was officially set up on December 23, 2011. Mr. Alireza Salarian has served as the Consul-General since August 2012. He visited SYSU in October 2013.
