On May 23-24, 2015, the final of the 13th “Challenge Cup” Guangdong College Students Extracurricular Science and Technology Works Competition was held in South China Normal University. Students from Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) earned 12 grand prizes, 11 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 4 third prizes, winning the “Challenge Cup” with the highest score in the competition.

After the opening ceremony, Mr. Han Qide, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of the China Association for Science and Technology, visited SYSU student’s work “Energy Recovery Brakes Disc” and talked with SYSU contestant Diao Jianwei.
The 13th “Challenge Cup” Guangdong College Students Extracurricular Science and Technology Works Competition was launched in March. A total of 1,232 works from 107 colleges and universities in Guangdong province participated in the competition.
