Secretary General of Keizai Koho Center visited SYSU

On the morning of June 10, 2015, a three-member delegation led by Mr. Makoto WATANABE, Secretary General of Keizai Koho Center (Japan Institute for Social and Economic Affairs), visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), accompanied by Mr. Li Hong Zhi, Secretary General of Guangdong People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Prof. Li Ping, Vice Chairman of the University Board, met with the guests in Zhongshan Building, accompanied by Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange of SYSU.

Prof. Li Ping extended a warm welcome to the guests, and introduced SYSU’s history and talent cultivation. She said that SYSU has maintained friendly relations with Keizai Koho Center (KKC), and she hoped that the two sides would enhance collaborations in the future and promote friendly cooperation and exchange between China and Japan.

Mr. Makoto WATANABE said that he was glad to visit SYSU, and introduced KKC’s programs for the cooperation among Japanese enterprises, Japanese universities and Chinese universities. He hoped that this visit would strengthen cooperation between KKC and SYSU, and provide support and assistance for the exchanges between SYSU and universities and enterprises in Japan.

Since 1978, the Keizai Koho Center has worked with Japan’s business community to improve its communication with society, both in Japan and around the world. Mr. Makoto WATANABE took office as Secretary General of Keizai Koho Center in April 2015, and this is his first visit to SYSU.
