On the afternoon of October 24, 2015, Ms. Wu Yihuan, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, Ms. Guo Yurong, Director of Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau, and Mr. Zhang Hengchun, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Guangming New District of Shenzhen, visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Prof. Chen Chunsheng, Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, Prof. Luo Jun, President of SYSU, Prof. Li Mengfeng, Vice President of SYSU, Prof. Cheng Huanwen, Assistant President of SYSU, and Mr. Yang Qinghua, Assistant President of SYSU, attended the activity.

Ms. Wu Yihuan arrived on South Campus of SYSU and visited Swasey Hall, Xing Pavilion, Scholar Archway, Library, Former Residence of Chen Yinque and Statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. She learned about the University’s history and architecture, and praised the beautiful landscape and academic atmosphere.
Afterwards, the group visited the Radiation Therapy Center, Department of Pediatric Oncology, Experimental Research Department and Back Garden at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, as well as the Surgery Building, Priority Care Wards and Department of Laboratory Medicine at The First Affiliated Hospital. Ms. Wu Yihuan spoke highly of the good environment, humanistic service, advanced treatment and strong research capabilities of the two hospitals. She expressed the hope to strengthen cooperation and exchange between the hospitals in Shenzhen and Guangzhou, and promote the development of medical and health care in Shenzhen.

Finally, the group came to North Campus and listened to an introduction of Zhongshan School of Medicine and medical education at SYSU given by Prof. Li Mengfeng. They visited the Office Building of Zhongshan School of Medicine, Medical Library, Medical Museum, Museum of Medical Specimen and Clinical Skills Training Center, and praised the excellent tradition, advanced methods and high quality of medical education at SYSU. Ms. Wu Yihuan hoped to enhance the communication with SYSU in more fields and deepen cooperation in joint school running.
