On April 14, National Outstanding Teacher and SYSU Professor of Physiology Wang Tinghuai demonstrated the TBL(Team Based Learning) mode to 09th medical students of 8-year program and teachers from Zhongshan Medical College, First Affiliated Hospital of SYSU and Guangdong Pharmaceutical University in North Campus.

The theme of this lesson was “circulation physiology”, which was further improved by Professor Wang Tinghai based on former practical teaching experience. He first briefly introduced the history of TBL and progression at home and abroad, laying a good foundation for the teaching part coming later. Then all the students were required to complete an exciting and challenging individual test in 10 minutes, with 20 questions in total. The next stage was group practice. Group mates must fully discuss with each other and agree upon an answer before they could scrap open their choice on the answer sheets. They had to continue the discussion when the scraped spot was blank until they found the corret answer. The final practical exercise section was the highlight of the whole lesson.
