On December 4, Dr. Chea Munyrith, Dean of the Confucius Institute at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, revisited SYSU. Dr. Chea Munyrith had a deep conversation with Zhang Shitao, Deputy Director of the Base for International Chinese Teaching Materials Development and Teacher Training (CTM) and Vice Dean of the School of Chinese as a Second Language (SCSL). The two sides discussed how to further improve collaborations in student enrollment and compiling teaching materials between the Confucius Institute at the Royal Academy of Cambodia and SCSL & CTM at SYSU. Apart from traditional Chinese language learning, Deputy Director Zhang Shitao also mentioned that, the courses lectured in English at Zhongshan School of Medicine are also recognized as a feature of international teaching at SYSU, which could be another choice for Cambodian students to study at SYSU.
Dr. Chea Munyrith believed that, with the good reputation of SYSU at home and abroad, the abundant faculty force of SCSL and the rich teaching resources of CTM were significant support to the Royal Academy of Cambodia. Deputy Director Zhang Shitao indicated that, as a laureate of “Global Advanced Confucius Institute”, the Confucius Institute at the Royal Academy of Cambodia was outstanding in both teaching and organization. Accordingly, mutual collaboration would facilitate the exchange of experience for SCSL and CTM, bring remarkable students and realize the goal of win-win.
Deputy Director Zhang Shitao bestowed Chinese textbooks to Dr. Chea Munyrith.
Deputy Director Zhang Shitao bestowed Chinese Reading Courses and Chinese to Thai compiled by teachers of SCSL & CTM to Dr. Chea Munyrith. Dr. Chea Munyrith exclaimed his happiness of revisiting SYSU.
