Academician Ji Liangnian won 2013 Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Outstanding Achievement Award

On the afternoon of April 29, the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Guangdong Provincial People’s Government held Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Award Conference & Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Conference in Guangzhou. Ji Liangnian, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Sun Yat-sen University, won the "2013 Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Outstanding Achievement Award". Hu Chunhua, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, presented the award to Academician Ji Liangnian.

It is learned that for the year 2013, Guangdong Province granted a total of 262 science and technology awards, including 1 outstanding achievement award, 2 grand prizes, 30 first prizes, 78 second prizes and 151 third prizes. SYSU won 32 prizes, accounting for 12.2% of the total awards. As the first unit in the award-winning projects, SYSU has obtained 20 prizes, including one outstanding achievement award, five first prizes, seven second prizes and seven third prizes. As a participating unit, SYSU won 12 prizes.
