Dr. Jin-tian LI appointed Journal of Applied Ecology associate editor

Recently, Dr. Jin-tian LI, a young researcher of College of Ecology and Evolution, Sun Yat-sen University was invited by Dr. Marc Cadotte, the Executive Editor of Journal of Applied Ecology, to serve as one of the associate editors for the internationally famous journal. The office term for his position is three years.

The Journal of Applied Ecology began publication in 1964 and is an official journal of the British Ecological Society, the oldest ecological society in the world. The journal publishes papers that use applied ecological problems to test and develop basic theory. The scope of the journal includes all major themes in applied ecology, such as conservation biology, global change, environmental pollution, wildlife and habitat management, land use and management, aquatic resources, restoration ecology, and the management of pests, weeds and disease. The journal is ranked as Q1 by JCR, has a 2013 impact factor of 4.754, with a 5-year impact factor of 5.864.

Dr. Jian-tian LI, born in October 1979, received his Doctor of Environmental Science degree in June 2008 from School of Life Sciences of Sun Yat-sen University, has become an Associate Professor in the College of Ecology and Evolution since January 2012. His research focuses on environmental pollution caused by heavy metals and ecological restoration, and has been funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, International Foundation for Science, Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province of China, Science and Technology Program of Guangzhou of China, etc. He has published 30 papers in SCI-indexed journals, including Environmental Science and Technology, Environmental Microbiology, Journal of Applied Ecology, Soil Biology and Biochemistry, Critical Reviews in Environmental Science and Technology.
