Guangdong Association of English Writing founded in SYSU

On November 2nd, 2014, Guangdong Association of English Writing (GAEW) was founded in Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). GAEW was jointly initiated by the Faculty of English Education (FEE) of SYSU, the School of Foreign Languages (SFL) of South China University of Technology (SCUT), the Faculty of English Language and Culture (FELC) and the School of English and Education (SEE) of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). 48 deans of foreign languages schools and English teacher representatives from 25 universities/colleges in Guangdong province gathered in the Lecture Hall of School of Foreign Languages in SYSU, discussing on topics of synergetic teaching, testing and resources development of English writing, aiming to upgrade the teaching of English writing in Guangdong universities/colleges so as to sharpen students’ skills in English writing.
Prof. Wen Binli, Dean of FELC at GDUFS; Prof. Han Jinlong, Vice Dean of SFL at SCUT; Prof. Jiang Chengsheng, Dean of SFL at Guangdong University of Technology; Prof. Zhang Guangkui, Dean of SFL at Guangdong University of Finance & Economics; and Prof. Wang Dongfeng, Dean of FEE at SYSU, shared their insights and vision for the future with the teacher representatives and reached a consensus on the short-term and long-term missions of GAEW.
GAEW is a branch of National Association of English Writing in China (NAEW), which was jointly initiated by Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nanjing University, Fudan University and Sun Yat-sen University, and founded in Nanjing University on November 30th, 2013.
