The 11th New Zealand Tourism and Hospitality Research Conference was held from December 9th to 12th, 2014 in Hamilton, New Zealand. The conference was organized by Prof. Chris Ryan, the chief editor of Tourism Management, which is the top journal of tourism study area. Attendees included faculties, students and researchers of 20 universities from 10 countries covering China, New Zealand, Germany, USA, Australia, etc.

Professor BAO Jigang, Dean of School of Tourism Management, Sun Yat-sen University, was invited as keynote speaker to attend the conference and made a speech entitled “The Changes in Consumption Patterns and the Development of Tourism in China” , in which he analyzed the new trends and issues of tourism development in China based on the new social and economic circumstances of China from the perspective of the demand and supply, and the impact of these changes on global tourism industry are also discussed in the speech. The speech was highly appreciated by the attendees.
Professor XU Honggang, Professor ZHANG Chaozhi and Associate Professor WANG Caiping of School of Tourism Management also attended the conference and made presentation in the parallel sessions.
The performance of scholars from School of Tourism Management in the conference received praise from the attendees, and it increases the international reputation of School of Tourism Management of Sun Yat-sen University.
