SYSU signed an agreement on entering the International Institute for Chinese Culture in Guiyang Confucius Academy

On December 23, Sun Yat-sen University signed an agreement with Guizhou Provincial Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress on entering the International Institute for Chinese Culture in Guiyang Confucius Academy. Mr. Zhu Xinwu, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and Director of the General Office of Guizhou Provincial Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress; leaders of Guiyang Confucius Academy; Prof. Li Ping, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Party Committee; teacher representatives from Department of Philosophy, Department of History, School of Sociology and Anthropology, and Office of Social Sciences and Humanities of SYSU attended the signing ceremony and seminar in Guiyang Confucius Academy.

At the seminar, the two sides agreed to combine Guizhou’s environmental and historical resources and SYSU’s research and talent advantages to expand fields of cooperation, and try to build Guiyang Confucius Academy into an important regional, national and international think tank in the research, development and dissemination of Chinese culture.
According to the agreement, the two sides will conduct in-depth cooperation in the study and research of Chinese culture, publication of research achievements and talent cultivation.
As the Phase II project of Guiyang Confucius Academy, the International Institute for Chinese Culture is a base for research on traditional Chinese culture. It consists of the Research and Study Area, the Research and Study Community, the Cultural Street and the Cultural Garden.
The No. 10 Building in the International Institute for Chinese Culture will be ready for SYSU to use in March 2015.
