In order to recruit high school graduates with disciplinary aptitude and innovative potential, the independent recruitment at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in 2015 is classified into seven general discipline categories: the humanities, social sciences, economics & management, basic sciences, information science & engineering, resources & environment, and medicine & pharmacy. Nearly ten thousand high school students from across the country have filed their applications. After initial evaluation, nearly one thousand and five hundred candidates are qualified for the independent recruitment interview at SYSU.

In accordance with the evaluation rules, the experts made comprehensive evaluation and gave independent scores based on the applicants’ disciplinary awards, scientific inventions/literary creations/ innovation achievements, academic performances, social activities and personal statements. The outstanding applicants were selected and approved by the university leading group for admission work, and the list of candidates qualified for SYSU 2015 independent recruitment interview has been announced.
