The International Symposium on Insect Physiology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IPBMB) is an important academic event in entomology in China, which is held every two years. Five plenary presentations were given by Alexander Raikhel, David Denlinger, Francesco Pennacchio, Le Kang, and Yikang Rong on the morning of June 16. More than 300 participants attended the event, including foreign students from the United States, Canada and other countries.

The conference provided attendees with an open and effective communication platform to enhance exchanges and cooperation between domestic and foreign counterparts to improve the scientific level of domestic insect physiology, biochemistry and molecular biology. It is the first time that the international symposium on IPBMB is held in Guangzhou. It is not only beneficial for insect physiology and biochemistry in southern China, but also conducive to promoting the cultivation of talents.
