SYSU participates in the joint construction of the collaborative innovation center for modern tourism industry development

On July 15, 2015, the seminar on the joint construction of the collaborative innovation center for modern tourism industry development was held in Beijing. As the first collaborative innovation center for tourism in China, it will be jointly built by Nankai University, Sun Yat-sen University, State Information Center, and Center for Science and Technology Innovation Program of National Tourism Industry.
Gong Ke, President of Nankai University, presided over the seminar and delivered a speech. Wu Wenxue, Deputy Director of China National Tourism Administration, Zhang Donggang, Director of the Department of Social Sciences of Ministry of Education, Peng Decheng, Director of the Department of Planning and Finance of China National Tourism Administration, and Peng Fuwei, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Development of National Development and Reform Commission, attended the meeting.

Zhu Guanglei, Vice President of Nankai University, Ma Jun, Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University, Du Ping, Executive Deputy Director of State Information Center, and Shi Peihua, Director of Center for Science and Technology Innovation Program of National Tourism Industry, signed the agreement on joint construction of the collaborative innovation center for modern tourism industry development.
Centering round the major needs of the tourism industry and its development, the collaborative innovation center for modern tourism industry development will build 6 collaborative innovation platforms, including the platforms for big data in China’s tourism, poverty reduction through tourism, entrepreneurship in tourism, sustainable development of tourism destinations, improvement of tourism services, and tourism talent cultivation bases.
