The 28th International Vacuum Nanoelectronics Conference (IVNC 2015) was held at Guangdong Yingbin Hotel in Guangzhou on July 13-17, 2015. The conference was organized by the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies and the Guangdong Province Key Laboratory of Display Material and Technology, Sun Yat-sen University. The IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS) and the American Vacuum Society are the technical sponsors. The Chairwoman of the IVNC 2015 is Prof. Shaozhi Deng from Sun Yat-sen University. 109 participants from 19 countries and regions attended the conference.
The 28th International Vacuum Nanoelectronics Conference (IVNC 2015)
The topics of the IVNC 2015 included theory, fabrication, characterization of vacuum micro/nano-electronic emitters and devices, new materials for field emission, and application of vacuum micro/nano-electronics. 126 scientific papers were presented in the conference, including 3 plenary talks, 6 invited talks, 38 contributed talks, and 79 poster presentations. All papers were collected in the conference proceeding. The plenary talks were given by Prof. Ningsheng Xu (Fudan University in China), Prof. S. T. Purcell (University of Lyon in France), and Prof. W. P. Kang (Vanderbilt University in the United States). In addition, the IVNC international steering committee and the organizing committee gave the Shoulders-Gray-Spindt (SGS) Award to Mr. Shijun Liang from Singapore University of Technology and Design, and the Best Poster Award to Mr. Zhipeng Zhang from School of Physics and Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University. During the conference, Prof. Shaozhi Deng was appointed a member of the IVNC international steering committee.
The IVNC is an annual meeting that is held in the Americas, Europe and Asia by turns. It is the third time for Sun Yat-sen University to host the conference. The IVNC 2015 not only provided a platform for the community to exchange and cooperate but also has significant impact on enhancing the development of Vacuum Nano-electronics related industry in Guangdong Province, China.
