On August 31, 2015, more than 20 Austrian delegates in Nanotechnology led by the Austrian Consulate General Guangzhou and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), and met with SYSU professors in the field of nanotechnology.

The delegation was met by Prof. Yu Siyuan, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies (OEMT) and Dean of the School of Microelectronics, Prof. Chen Jun, Associate Dean of the School of Physics and Engineering, Prof. Lv Shu-shen, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Prof. Chen Qinglin, Director of the Research Center of Petrochemical Products and Technology at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Prof. Yao Daoxin and Associate Professor Gui Xuchun from the School of Physics and Engineering, Associate Professor Qiu Zhiren, Deputy Director of the OEMT, representatives from the Office of Scientific Research and Development and representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange. During the meeting, representatives from both parties respectively introduced their current situation and future trend in Nanotechnology research, and discussed potential cooperation opportunities. Before the meeting, the delegation visited the OEMT.
Mr. Lu Yixian, Party Secretary of Panyu District, Guangzhou City, and Mr. Lin Weichang, Deputy Mayor of Panyu District, also attended the the exchange activities and introduced relevant supporting policies of Panyu District.
