In this new stage of development, Lingnan and the MIT Sloan School of Management will increase their level of cooperation, in a full effort to build Lingnan’s International MBA program.

Lingnan ((University) College and MIT Sloan School of Management signed a strategic cooperation contract in 1998.

In 1998, under the support of Lingnan’s Board of Trustees, Lingnan and MIT Sloan School of Management signed a strategic cooperation contract. Ever since then, the MIT Sloan School of Management has provided tremendous support, including program design and development, faculty training, case studies, introduction of action learning and interaction between students of both schools. As a result, Lingnan’s MBA program has significantly improved and developed in recent years.

Under the new terms of cooperation, Lingnan will make use of the platform of MIT Sloan School of Management so as to enhance the level of the faculty as well as the students’ learning experience. In the future, four professors from MIT will work with Lingnan’s professors to teach core courses of Lingnan’s full-time MBA program. Each July, full-time MBA students will have the opportunity to conduct a study tour at MIT to complete a module of study and visit innovative enterprises in the US. In addition, Lingnan will select four students to study at MIT for half a year. As a strategic partner of MIT, Lingnan may recommend its MBA students to apply for MIT MSMS program. Students who are admitted shall study at MIT for a full year and receive both an MBA degree from Sun Yat-sen University and Master’s degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

One of the most prominent goals is to make Lingnan (University) College and its MBA program truly international. At present, Lingnan conducts dual-degree programs with ESCP Europe and Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. Lingnan encourages second-year MBA students to study at either of the two top business schools in Europe. In addition, the Lingnan MBA center organizes study tours with partner schools in Europe, including ESCP Europe, Antwerp School of Management and London Business School. The course curricula and company visits have earned high praise from participating students.

The cooperation between Lingnan and MIT Sloan School of Management has enjoyed consistent support from Lingnan’s Board of Trustees. We believe that with deeper cooperation between Lingnan and MIT, Lingnan shall establish a world-class MBA program and further promote China’s business administration education; Lingnan shall cultivate leaders with the spirit of “Education for Service” as well as a global vision to contribute to the development of China and of the world.
