Five SYSU professors honored as outstanding social scientists of Guangdong province

On the morning of December 14, 2015, the award ceremony of the 2nd Outstanding Social Scientists and the 6th Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences of Guangdong Province was held at Zhudao Guest House in Guangzhou. The award selected 10 outstanding social scientists, and a total of 224 outstanding achievements including 56 first prizes, 99 second prizes and 69 third prizes.
At the award ceremony, Mao Yunshi, Feng Dawen, Sang Bing, Huang Xiuji and Zeng Xiantong, five professors at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), were honored as outstanding social scientists. SYSU’s 48 research achievements in philosophy and social sciences won the outstanding achievements award, including 12 first prizes, 22 second prizes and 14 third prizes.
Analyzed in terms of schools and departments, the 48 award-winning achievements are from 17 units at SYSU: Sun Yat-sen Business School (6), Department of History (6), Department of Chinese (6), School of Sociology and Anthropology (4), School of Government (4), School of Information Management (4), Department of Philosophy (3), School of Law (3), The Center for Studies of Hong Kong, Macao and Pearl River Delta (2), International School of Business & Finance (2), Lingnan (University) College (2), and School of Marxism (2), School of Communication and Design (1), School of International Relations (1), Institute of Logic and Cognition (1), School of Tourism Management (1), and Sun Yat-sen University Libraries (1).
Analyzed in terms of the forms of research achievements, 33 papers, 14 books and 1 survey report from SYSU won the outstanding achievements award.
